Bargain Bin Players

Sometimes it can be difficult finding a diamond in the rough.  Here are some potential gems to keep your eye out for later in your draft.

Centers:

  • Andrew Bogut - He's looking healthy and should improve.

  • LaMarcus Aldridge - With Greg Oden out for the season, Aldridge will have a chance to shine.

  • Nenad Krstic - He's healthy again.

  • Darko Milicic - Great things are expected of him this year.  At the very least, he should be good for blocks.

  • Chris Kaman - With Elton Brand out for a long stretch, expect bigger contributions from Kaman.

  • Kendrick Perkins - He's in great shape and motivated to play with the big three.

  • Robert Swift - He's healthy again and gained 40lbs of muscle.

  • Nene Hilario - Healthy again and should get more minutes this season.

  • Andris Biedrins - Had a great season last year.

  • Joel Przybilla - Might be worth a look with Oden out.

  • Darko Milicic - Memphis' athletic look might better suit him.

  • Andrew Bynum - Has apparently undergone rigorous workouts this offseason.

  • Jamaal Magloire - Should be motivated playing with Jason Kidd.

  • Jorge Garbajosa - Had a solid rookie season and should be healthy again.

Power Forwards:

  • Channing Frye - With Oden out for the season, Frye could slip into the starting PF spot.

  • Chris Wilcox - The Sonics will look more for his veteran leadership

  • Nick Collison - Ditto for Collison

  • Kenyon Martin - Some think he'll finally have a healthy season

  • Luis Scola - Might be worth a gamble. Either he or Jackie Butler will be starting in Houston.

  • Tim Thomas - Will be stepping in for Brand.

  • David Lee - Even though he's playing behind Zach Randolph, they'll still need his defense eventually.

  • Andrea Bargnani - Finished strong last season before getting hurt.

  • Tyrus Thomas - If he can ever get consistent, expect big blocks from this kid.

  • Antonio McDyess - Should get more minutes with Chris Webber gone.

  • Drew Gooden - Some boards and points don't hurt.

  • Sean May - Looks to be healthy again.

  • Al Horford - Some think he's ready to contribute right away.
  • Troy Murphy - Hoping to bounce back from a disappointing season last year.

  • Andres Nocioni - Still should get the starting nod as the Bulls PF.

  • Marvin Williams - Could produce if he could ever find a niche on the Hawks.

Small Forwards:

  • Shane Battier - He still falls in a lot of leagues, but is extremly reliable in terms of solid fantasy production.

  • Andrei Kirilenko - Given his situation, he's definitely a gamble.  But, if he does play for some team, he could prove to be a great late-round steal.

  • Ricky Davis - Will probably get traded from Minnesota, but would be a great fantasy contributer there.

  • Corey Brewer - Should be able to contribute right away as a rookie.

  • Rudy Gay - Still inconsistent, but could capitalize with two new point guards on the roster.

  • Peja Stojakovic - Still not 100%, but some hold onto the dream that he'll re-emerge as the player he once was.

  • Grant Hill - His style should fit in well with the rest of the Suns.

  • Luke Walton - Had a decent season last year.
  • Al Thornton - Had a great summer league.

  • Jason Kapono - His sharp-shooting should fit well with the Raptors' style.

  • Quentin Richardson - Sooner or later, the Knicks will need his sharp-shooting.

  • Kyle Korver - Always great for threes.

  • Mike Dunleavy - Decent player on a bad team.

  • Danny Granger - Should continue to improve.

Scoring Guards:

  • Wally Szczerbiak - If he can stay healthy, he'll be one of the primary scorers.

  • J.R. Smith - Gets a lot of open threes with Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson on the roster.

  • Tarence Kinsey - Finished strong last season in Memphis.

  • Cuttino Mobley - Will have to step things up with Brand out.

  • Morris Peterson - Should start in New Orleans.

  • Jamal Crawford - Looks like he's healthy again.

  • Larry Hughes - Inconsistent and has health concerns, but not a bad late-round pick.

Point Guards:

  • Luke Ridnour - Will have to step things up with Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis gone.

  • Earl Watson - Ditto for Watson.

  • Steve Blake - He'll battle with Jarrett Jack for the starting point guard spot.

  • Jarrett Jack - See "Steve Blake".

  • Chucky Atkins - Will take over Steve Blake's role in Denver.

  • Randy Foye - Could have a breakout season.

  • Devin Harris - Should get more minutes at the starting point guard spot.

  • Mike Conley - He's a rookie and therefor a gamble, but he's an amazing passer with plenty of players to pass to.

  • Derek Fisher - He's back in familiar territory with the Lakers and should be good for some threes.

  • Sam Cassell - He's old, but he will have to step things up with Brand out.

  • Brevin Knight - Knight should be good for steals and assists per usual.

  • Monta Ellis - He may not get much time at the starting two guard, but he had a great season last year and if Baron Davis ever goes down he's the man.

  • T.J. Ford - A capable point who sometimes slips through the cracks.

  • Rajon Rondo - He is in prime position to have a great fantasy season. Steals and assists are in his future.
  • Stephon Marbury - Not the player he once was, but might be worth a gamble if you think he can turn his career around.

  • Daniel Gibson - After a great finals appearance, some think he's ready to have a breakout season.

  • Jamaal Tinsley - Still is worth picking up if you need a point guard late.

  • Acie Law - Eventually, most believe he'll take over the starting point guard spot.

  • Jameer Nelson - Still contributes decent numbers here and there.
