It's been really rainy and stormy around here lately and the lights are kind of flickering. I really hope the power doesn't go out. I really hope I can pump this assessment out before the power goes out. I really hope they won't have to pump my stomach after I binge drink from boredom because of the power going out.
Seriously. Electricity is my world!
Anyway, thanks for waiting, Chris.

Hey Max, could u please take a look at my team please?! Sure thing, Chris!!! I'm in a yahoo roto league and we have the usual 9 STAT CATS plus minutes GAH! I don't understand this category, but OK...why not just have number of tattoos or number of cavities :P. OK, sorry...go on. Positions are PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, UTIL, UTIL, BN, BN, BN. It's also a 16 team league!
The Assessment
I'm gonna let folks chime in about minutes, cuz I think that's such a back-asswords stategory anyway.
Otherwise, at first glance you've got a pretty solid team here.
POINTS – Carter's on fire right now and I expect a pretty big year from him due to the fact that he's playing for a contract. You don't have a lot else in the way of scorers. I think Korver's point production will decrease a bit and Boozer's health is always a question mark for me. Still, Carter alone might make you respectable in this category, so I wouldn't worry too much. Morrison has the potential to put up big points, too.
REBOUNDS – Assuming you aren't able to pick up any rebounder off the waiver wire, it will be so important for you that Boozer stays healthy this year. Biedrins was a great pick up. He's become an instrumental part of Don Nelson's lineup. But really, you don't have a lot of depth here.
ASSISTS – Paul and Miller will provide a huge boost in assists and guys like Carter and Mike James (if he ever finds a rhythm) should chip in. You're looking very solid at assists.
STEALS – This is a tough one, because Chris Paul's steals are down, but Andre Miller's steals are up. Kirilenko should help here when he gets healthy again and starts playing like the AK-47 we all know and love. You have others who aren't getting many steals right now, but who can certainly collect them if they start playing the way they're capable of.
THREES – Korver and Carter are your main threats here. I don't see much else other than potentially Mike James. You might pick up a gunner off the waivers here and there during the season. It's nothing to panic about though.
BLOCKS – You're completely relying on Kirilenko and Biedrins for blocks, which is not bad at ALL. Kirilenko needs to get healthy, but Biedrins was an excellent pick up, especially for your needs.
FG% and FT% - Your main scoring threats...Carter, Boozer and possibly Paul or Korver...all have solid %s. So, you should be OK here.
TOs – Chris Paul's turnovers are up slightly, but I wouldn't worry too much. There are lots of players who are struggling with turnovers early, but you don't see to have that problem.
Conclusion
This is a very balanced team. I do worry about the health of Kirilenko and Boozer, especially as it's such a deep league and wire play might be thin. I realize that there are a lot of bigs with health issues, but those two seem to get injured more than most, and you rely on them a lot for blocks and boards.
It seems like you've made some nice waiver wire pickups (I'm assuming you got Biedrins and Walton off waivers), which is impressive in a 16 deep league.
If you really wanted to make a trade, you might consider shopping Boozer while he's hot to see what you could get. Of course, if they are really experts, they may be cautious about his history of injuries.
One thing you might consider is waiting until Channing Frye gets hot (he's starting to play better) and then dealing him. I don't really see his game as being that fantasy friendly, so that's just an opinion of Max. You might think otherwise.
Hope that helps some.

Trade...
Ive just been offered KG and Jason Richardson for Vince Carter and Chris Paul, and I dunno whether to take it. What do u guys think?!
re:Trade
I say keep Garnett. He's a top five fantasy guy every year. JRich had a nice season last year, but has struggled so far under Don Nelson. Chris Paul's assists and points are up, but his turnovers are up too and his steals are down.
I think you can get more for Garnett.
RE: Trade...
I'd be the one getting KG. I really like the trade but im not pulling the trigger just yet cus ive got Paul pending in a trade to another team so I think im gunna wait it out!
My team
I'd appreciate if you could give any insight into my team.
League Categories are: FGM, FG%, FTM, FT%, 3PTM, 3PT%, PTS, OREB, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO.
Roster Positions are: PG, SG, G, G, SF, PF, F, F, C, C, Util, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
Here's how i drafted
1. (6) Shawn Marion SF,PF
2. (19) Jason Kidd PG
3. (30) Lamar Odom SF,PF
4. (43) Brad Miller C
5. (54) Chris Webber PF
6. (67) Luke Ridnour PG
7. (78) Brandon Roy PG,SG
8. (91) Brevin Knight PG
9. (102) Bobby Simmons SG,SF
10. (115) Hedo Turkoglu SG,SF
11. (126) Cuttino Mobley SG
12. (139) Kenny Thomas PF
13. (150) Eddie Jones SG,SF
14. (163) Primoz Brezec C
15. (174) Jeff Foster PF,C
16. (187) Bruce Bowen SF
Since then, I traded away Marion for Yao and Rashard Lewis(think it was a good deal?) and dropped Jones, Foster, and Bowen for Hakim Warrick and Antoine Wright.
Since it's H2H, I'm looking to build on strengths(FT%,OREB,REB,AST are my strongest) and looking to add more in the scoring categories(PTS,FGM,FTM) which would make me dominant in 7/13 cats.
I'm currently posting a dismal 6-20 record, but i attribute most of that to injuries(miller, simmons, brezec, roy all out)
top players on waivers include e.jones,d.milicic,m.dunleavy, and c.arroyo, think any of those players are worth a roster spot?
also wondering what you thought about jason richardson.. i think i can get him cheap, maybe in a deal like odom/warrick for j.rich/ford..
alright, i know that was long, any help would be appreciated.
Your team
Hmmm...very weird stats. What's with the leagues with obscure stats? It really offsets the balance. It seems like three point guns are over-weighted in your league and man, you just don't have any of those. You see, the problem with having both FGM AND FG% and FTM and FT% (and 3's made and 3%) is that you're double-counting the stat pretty much, because the players who make the most field goals are the ones who most significantly effect your team's overall FG%.
That being said, you are definitely strong down low, but you really need some gunners. You need to tell us how many people are in your league. otherwise, we have no way of telling whether or not you might have some options on the waiver wire. 16-deep is a LOT of players.
I don't blame you for wanting to build on strengths. Getting some of those injured guys back would be the first thing that would help.
Yeah
they are weird stats.. it's my first league outside the standard 9 cats, so i'm still kind of adjusting. It's a 12-team league with 16 players on each. there isn't much left on the waiver wire.. i just recently dropped brezec for stromile swift.. but i'm worried about his mins and production on a very-deep memphis team. anyone you can suggest that might be available that is worth a roster spot?
Aldridge/Armstrong
First, check out my latest blog on who to pick up off the wire. Second, Hilton Armstrong had a nice night with David West OOC and LaMarcus Aldridge is doing some nice things in Portland.
