Kings said:
Since then, I traded away Marion for Yao and Rashard Lewis(think it was a good deal?) and dropped Jones, Foster, and Bowen for Hakim Warrick and Antoine Wright.

Since it's H2H, I'm looking to build on strengths(FT%,OREB,REB,AST are my strongest) and looking to add more in the scoring categories(PTS,FGM,FTM) which would make me dominant in 7/13 cats.
I'm currently posting a dismal 6-20 record, but i attribute most of that to injuries(miller, simmons, brezec, roy all out)

top players on waivers include e.jones,d.milicic,m.dunleavy, and c.arroyo, think any of those players are worth a roster spot?
also wondering what you thought about jason richardson.. i think i can get him cheap, maybe in a deal like odom/warrick for j.rich/ford..

The Assessment

I do apologize for the delay on this one. Anyway, since it's a head to head league, which means there's no set limit to games, I think the Lewis and Yao deal for Marion was a good one. You're giving up a lot in Marion, but to get two potentially top 20 fantasy guys is a big lift, especially one who covers the center position.

It looks like there are 12 teams in this league.

Regarding the waiver wire, I don't know why you'd even keep Brezec. I must admit, I'm not as smart about OR, and I completely scoff at the whole 3P%, so I'm not sure how much help I can give you there. Maybe someone can chime in for those. Anyway, I'd take a chance on Darko and drop Brezec. That's just me though. With how well Okafor's playing and because Brezec's hurt anyway.

POINTS – This isn't going to be your strongest stat cat, but trading for Yao will help.

REBOUNDS – You're looking very solid here. Plus, you have injured players who should help a little here when they heal or play better.

ASSISTS – Kidd, Knight and Ridnour make you very competitive here. Plus, you have guys like Odom who can help from other positions.

STEALS – Losing Marion hurts a little, but with Kidd and Knight as well as some others who can help, you should be OK here.

THREES – It looks like some of your three point specialists haven't worked out (like Eddie Jones), so picking up Rashard Lewis via trade should be a very nice help. Also, you should be able to find some threes off the wire over the course of the year.

BLOCKS – You're kind of hurting for blocks. Yao Ming may be your best shot blocker.

FG% and FT% - Solid on both fronts.

TOs – Again, nothing to really worry about here.

Conclusion

I actually really like your team. You have a solid core, which is key in deep drafts.

I think you're right. A lot of your early woes are due to some key injuries. Be patient. I think your trade will help you since it's a H2H. H2H favors 1 for 2 deals more than rotisserie leagues.

Regarding Offensive rebounds, some guys you might consider to help with this who come a little cheaper are David Lee (3.8 orpg), Erick Dampier (4.1 orpg), Udonis Haslem (3.7 orpg), Jeff Foster (2.8 orpg), Josh Childress (2.7 orpg).

Regarding 3 point %, consider these guys for cheap:

Brent Barry 62.5% (3.2 attempts)
Kyle Korver 57.1% (3.1 attempts)
Darrell Armstrong 56% (2.1 attempts)
Luther Head 48.1% (4.1 attempts)
Danny Granger 44.7% (3.8 attempts)
Mickael Pietrus 43.6% (3.6 attempts)

Remember, the more attempts the more it weighs for the category.

Hope all that helps. Good luck!

whats up Max

hey I'm not sure if your still doing this but I have a team in a yahoo 10 team, H to H, 9 cat league that use 3 guards, 3 forwards, 2 centers, and a util each night. My team looks like this

Joe Johnson
J.R. Smith
Chauncey Billups
Josh Smith
Lamar Odom
Elton Brand
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Jorge Garbajosa
Luol Deng
Sam Cassell
Manu Ginobili
David West
Hakim Warrick
Mickael Pietrus

I feel I have a strong team but I'm only in 4th place right now. waiver notables include Tinsley, Jamer Nelson, and not alot else right now. What holes do you see in my team and what advice do you have?

Who Will Sex Dikembe????

thanks

thanks for the assessment.. pretty accurate, my weakest cat is blocks and my strongest is assists.. but i've got pretty high TO, especially considering a # of my players are out with injuries.. i had a better week 3 and posted 6-6-1, better than i expected with so many injuries.. i've dropped kenny thomas, primoz brezec, and antoine wright for paul millsap, mike dunleavy, and stromile swift.. Here's my watch-list.. i'm looking for long-term prospects because i'd like to focus on getting a strong run through the playoffs.

Eddie Jones, Kenny Thomas, Primoz Brezec, Devin Harris, Ime Udoka, Kyle Lowry, Rajon Rondo, Ronnie Brewer, Sasha Pavlovic, Antoine Wright.

Who do you think has the most upside here and will be the best long-term value? Or who has above-average short-term value? thanks in advance for any advice you give.

Also, just wanted to say how can you not vote for Chamberlain's 27.2rbpg? i know it's not flashy but come on.. how many current player in the NBA even have a CAREER-HIGH of 27 rebounds? My guess is not many if any do. My 2nd place vote would go to Oscar for averaging a triple-double, which is pretty impressive as well.

Devin Harris is playing

Devin Harris is playing pretty well right now and is getting minutes with Jason Terry at the 2 spot.

I like the rookies...namely Lowry, Rondo and Brewer. But, Brewer's having a tough time holding onto the starting spot in Utah. Lowry's put up some big numbers on occasion, but is still sporadic. Rondo's shooting a horrid %.

Kenny Thomas is good if you need boards, but with Reef playing so well I wonder if Thomas loses the starting spot when Miller gets healthy.

Eddie Jones has always been solid, but seems to be finally showing his age.

Brezec is a waste of time in my opinion. He might have a few good games of double doubles, but for the most part, and especially with Okafor and May playing so well, I don't see much from Brezec.

Wright and Pavlocic have been solid lately, but I can't see them getting any better stat-wise.

Out of that group? I guess I like Harris the most right now.

Also, I voted for Chamberlain's 50 ppg average. 27 boards a game is impressive, but Russell came close to that a few times I think, and it's one thing to rebound against 6-8 centers (people who tell you Chamberlain went up against real big men each night don't know their history. On occasion he faced another 7-0 center, but they were usually even skinnier than he was). However, to score 50 of your team's points EACH night! That just seems impossible to me. I don't think anything has ever come that close to that number.

Big O's triple double's a close second IMO.

devin harris

harris did have a pretty good game tonight, going for 18pts/5reb/4ast.. but in very limited time and due to high percentage shooting(only 13 shots attempted). Won't he be back to the bench when josh howard gets healthy? as i see it.. he is already getting less mins then you want.. think his mins will increase or decrease as the season goes on?
out of my watch-list, i'm liking brewer the most because of his high minutes and starting role with ak47 out.. but his game isn't very fantasy-friendly and he doesn't put up #s that will wow you. the league has a pretty thin free agent pool and i think i named all the players worth mentioning.. if there's any others i forgot that you think might be available, please let me know since i'm always looking for good pickups.

re:devin harris

Brewer might be solid. However, I don't think he'll be a force in fantasy for a while. He keeps losing his starting spot to CJ Miles and Gordon Giricek. With that in mind, both Brewer and Harris are short term solutions. Harris, I think, might be a better option right now, even if Brewer could be a better choice later on. So, I'd still go with Harris. But, it really depends on whether you're looking for short term solutions or long-term solutions...and frankly, I'm not convinced at this point that Brewer is even a long-term solution.
