What's up Wolf? Happy belated National Family Obligation Day! (If you've met my family, you'd know why it's celebrated with turkey).

Yup, I'm still doing these. I've been distracted from my duties by the holidays and the icy roads up here in the northwest. Let's cut to the chase, though.

Wolf said: I feel I have a strong team but I'm only in 4th place right now. waiver notables include Tinsley, Jamer Nelson, and not a lot else right now. What holes do you see in my team and what advice do you have?

League Categories are: Standard 9 STAT CAT Head to Head

Roster Positions are: 3 guards, 3 forwards, 2 centers and a utility.

The Assessment
Hmmm, you do have a pretty strong team. There could be other factors in a H2H league, though. Have you had a tougher schedule so far then those ahead of you? Do any of them have great teams? Ilgauskas and Brand have really been struggling this year so far. You should see improvement, but it might have affected your start as they are your primary big men. Chauncey Billups has caught fire in fantasy, but he had a slow first couple weeks. I suspect that you struggled at first and are climbing your way up...is that right? If so, I wouldn't worry about being fourth right now. Your team looks solid. If you really want, you might consider trading a small for another big, but I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary. How deep are the rosters set to? That would affect the depth of the waiver wire.

POINTS – You look fine here. Joe Johnson's scoring is offsetting the fact that Brand's points are down.

REBOUNDS – Odom helps a lot, since Ilgauskas is struggling this year. Brand is still your anchor here and West and Smith help a lot too. You have a lot of depth at rebounding.

ASSISTS – Again, you look very solid here, especially now that Billups has started to find his groove again. It will help that Cassell's ankle sprain wasn't a big deal and that he's back in the lineup.

STEALS – Your first real weakness. Ginobili is your best steals guy from what I can tell and he's hurt...and his steals are down. You're pretty much empty in this Stat Cat.

THREES – Pretty strong with Johnson, Smith, Smith and Billups. JR Smith was a nice pick up to help add depth in this Stat Cat.

BLOCKS – Brand and Josh Smith should fill this category nicely. Zydrunas should help just a little when he starts playing like he's capable of. He's having problems with the Cavs new motion offense so far.

FG% and FT% - I can see FT% being a problem, but this is something that can't really be fixed on the wire, so I wouldn't worry too much. The only way to help it would be to trade for a high volume/high percentage free throw shooter.

TOs – You should be OK here.

Conclusion

From what I gather, it just seems like you suffered from certain players having slow starts. Patience is the key. It's tougher in H2H, because you see the losses start to pile. I mean, Billups, Brand, Ilgauskas have all had slow starts. Billups has picked it up, which should help. West, Ginobili, Cassell have all endured injuries of sorts. That's all significant. I think you'll be OK. If you're really aching to make a deal, you might shop Lamar Odom around. His turnovers are killing right now.

thanks

Will sit tight for now. Thanks. Speaking of turkey day I drove for 2.5 hours to my sisters that day- its normally a 45 min drive. imagine that many people all driving to a Turkey

Thanksgiving drive

It's been really stormy here. Not so much snow, though it has done that...but ICE!!! Where I live wasn't so bad, but we were sliding all over the roads. Where my parents live, just north of Seattle, it was aweful. My dad is a half hour away from work. He got off at about 4 the other night and it took him 7 and a half hours to get home!!! They pretty much shut down the interstate.
