With so many potential breakout players this season, paying attention to the waiver wire will be even more important this season than in most other seasons. Even if you were able to draft all the players you wanted, chances are you'll need to reach to the wire to fill in certain gaps along the way. Here's a look at some centers and power forwards to watch on the wire throughout the season. They may not be sure-fire studs, but they have the potential to be and you'd be wise to keep them on your radar.

• Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks - He's being drafted in many leagues, but there's no telling what he'll do. He's very talented, but he's a rookie and he's no a team loaded with forwards.
    
• Kendrick Perkins, Boston Celtics - Perkins is in great shape and motivated to play with Kevin Garnett. Plus, there will be a lot of room in the middle for him to block shots and grab boards with Pierce and Ray Allen gunning from the perimeter.
   
• Walter Herrman, Charlotte Bobcats - With Sean May and Adam Morrison out for the season, Herrman could get more opportunities.
   
• Tyrus Thomas, Chicago Bulls - The guy doesn't have the best basketball IQ, but he can block a lot of shots if given the opportunity, and has developed a decent jump shot.
    
• Jason Maxiell, Detroit Pistons - He's looking much improved and should give Rasheed Wallace more of a rest this season.
   
• Alonzo Mourning, Miami Heat - Yes, he's older than dirt. Yes, he's playing behind Shaq. But, at some point Shaq will get hurt, and even though they have Mark Blount, you've got to think that Zo will get some blocks.
   
• Antonio McDyess, Detroit Pistons - With Chris Webber not re-signing, McDyess should play a bigger role this season.
   
• Yi Jianlian, Milwaukee Bucks - He's won the starting power forward spot over Charlie Villanueva. Very talented, young big man.
   
• Jamaal Magloire, New Jersey Nets - He's kind of old, but if he gets minutes, he's still got some tricks up his sleeves. And, he may be able to get your team some boards.
   
• Josh Boone, New Jersey Nets - Don't pick him up straight off a whim, but if Nenad Krstic or Jamaal Magloire go down, Boone showed last year he can put up decent numbers with Jason Kidd passing him the ball.
   
• Jason Smith, Philadelphia 76ers - Kind of a long shot, but this kid might surprise some people.
   
• Jorge Garbajosa, Toronto Raptors - Remember, he was the Raptors starting center for much of last season and a solid fantasy contributor.
   
• Kenyon Martin, Denver Nuggets - He's back...at least for now.
   
• Tim Thomas, LA Clippers - With Elton Brand out, Thomas should help with threes.
   
• Stromile Swift, Memphis Grizzlies - He's won the starting center job over Darko Milicic. Ouch, Darko!
   
• Hilton Armstrong, New Orleans - Good enough to steal some minutes from David West and Tyson Chandler.
   
• Theo Ratliff, Minnesota Timberwolves - Old and frail, but the Wolves don't have many other options at center, and this guy used to be able to block a ton of shots.
   
• Joel Przybilla, Portland Trail Blazers - Przybilla's back, and so are his blocks and boards.
   
• Robert Swift, Seattle Supersonics - Swift is bigger and stronger than ever, but still has to earn minutes from Kurt Thomas and Nick Collison.
   
• Paul Millsap, Utah Jazz - Millsap might steal more and more minutes away from Mehmet Okur.
