The Clippers are very interested in acquiring Vince Carter from the New Jersey Nets. Talks with the Nets have been slow, but a couple trades are reportedly on the table.
The first has the Clippers offering PG Shaun Livingston, FG Corey Maggette and C Zeljko Rebraca to the Nets for Carter and PG Marcus Williams.
The second involves the Clippers sending Livingston to New Jersey and Maggette to the Memphis Grizzlies. New Jersey would get Gasol from Memphis and the Grizzlies would get a first-round pick from the Clippers. The Clippers would get Carter and Williams from New Jersey.
The first proposal is much more possible. The Grizzlies could get more for Gasol elsewhere. Though there's not a whole lot of development on either rumor, they have been reported more than a couple times.
Fantasy Spin: Frankly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of muscle behind this rumor at this point. However, if it were to happen, look for New Jersey's Antoine Wright to benefit most, as Carter would be gone. Of course, the last time he got such an opportunity he showed himself to be no more than an average scorer rather than a stat-filler.
